"Extremely pleased with their service. Arrived on time, were neat and cleaned up after themselves. We just moved into our home and need additional work done on a previously installed home theater, they are researching items needed and will get back to me."

"I had multiple rooms going into one GFI breaker. I was tripping the breaker constantly as I had my office and living room plugged into the same breaker. I was unsure of whether there was any arcing going on so I called these guys up to test it out as I didn't have much plugged into the outlets. There wasn't any arcing as far as he could tell, but did install an additional breaker and cleaned up the wires in the panel; that relieved the tripping problem as it's been a week without a trip. The cost was affordable - $108 - and worth it as the guy was punctual, 8am on the dot and done by 9am. I'm sure I could've paid $75-$85, but I for that price I'm sure I'm wasting my time on a "be there between 8am to noon" crap I've dealt with in the past. Totally worth it."

"They were extremely thorough in fixing our electrical systems! Having things up to code makes us feel a lot safer. We also had them install 3 ceiling fans and recessed lighting. Perfect work!"

"Jim and his team were great to work with on my generator install. I found the entire team at Power Point to be helpful and professional and the installation went as promised. I would certainly recommend them for any generator installation, maintenance or repair. They know what they are doing."

"Generators of Maine just completed the installation of a 14kw generator with parallel transfer switches, to protect 2 separate metered panels at a rental property that I own. I didn't even know that this was possible, until Doug Sawyer suggested it. The incremental cost of protecting the additional panel with the parallel transfer switch arrangement was a fraction the cost of an additional generator and transfer switch. Throughout the job, Doug and his crew were awesome. I am a terrible snoop who enjoys technology, so I hung around just watching and learning. They didn't seem to mind my presence and were friendly and informative through out the install. Every aspect of the job was 100% top-notch. Doug also managed to under bid his nearest competitor on every component and aspect of the job, including the annual maintenance contract, which I deemed to be worth the $$$. I highly recommend Generators of Maine."

"Sellick Electric is top notch! Chuck did an amazing job on the electrical service upgrade. He is meticulous about his work and really cares about the customer. He is reliable and honest. The quote I was provided is exactly what he said it would be with no surprises at the completion of the work. I can't wait to recommend him to my friends."

A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
