"They were professional and polite, they were reasonable with pricing and I actually had them complete a tub installation, fix a ceiling, and move a washer and dryer hook-up. I would use their services again for sure. They know theyâ re stuff!!!!"

"This was a large project- opening up three rooms into one large room, taking down walls and putting in support beams in the ceiling. The project included demo work, putting up existing cabinets, installing new cabinets, new floors, new lighting, moving appliances and water lines, new electric lines, painting, etc. Justin was always super professional and had terrific attention to detail. The project started a week late because Justin was finishing up another project. He got right to work! Our project took a few weeks longer than expected because of delays in supplies and needing to pivot from a loading-bearing post (bad location near the kitchen island) to installing support beams. Justin stayed committed to the project and completed all the finishing touches beautifully."

"I hired Tom to replace the stairs that go from my garage up to my kitchen door. The steps I had were not up to code (steep and uneven) causing me to fall a few times (I have a bad back and chronic pain). He gave me an estimate to replace them that was right in line with what I was hoping for. The new steps are pressure-treated wood, and now I have 3 steps and a landing. So much better! I don't even need my cane or to use the railing to haul myself up like with the old steps! I've asked him to replace my basement stairs, too, and he may even do my attic insulation. A great contractor! I'm glad I found him!"

"My husband and I were looking for a Pro to redo our kitchen. We called A&D for a free estimate and were pleasantly surprised. Dominick was nice, knowledgeable and explained everything. He helped us find our inspiration for my new kitchen. He installed our tiled countertops, kitchen sink and new tiled floors with custom design! We recommend A&D for any of your remodel and or tiling needs."

You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
